305 - Going Digital: How to Successfully Transform the Learning Function
One of the biggest challenges the L&D function faces nowadays is to redefine how we leverage digital—how this transformation should be understood, planned, executed, and sustained. The biggest and the most common fatal flaw is to consider it from the perspective of technology (platforms/learning environment) and content only. Successful transformation is not, however, simply about switching from face-to-face training to digitally-delivered learning, but about changing the paradigm related with much broader context covering such areas like learning governance, learning environment, learning culture, and then end-to-end learning offer. How can we better understand organizational conditions of digital learning transformation? And how can we execute such a transition and make it sustainable in such a dynamic technological environment?
In this session you will learn how to successfully transform your L&D function. During the first part, you’ll explore trends impacting the L&D function in the era of enterprise digitalization. The session will not only cover areas related to new technologies and solutions (like LXP, AI, XR, Big Data analyses, etc.) necessary to design, build, and provide a learning offer, but will also help you to understand and drill down on additional angles which have to be taken into consideration to make this transition. You’ll explore the Digital Learning Capability Model with its 4 areas focusing on Governance, Culture, Environment, and Offer. You’ll also work out sub-capabilities using Accenture FORM—a model for designing innovative solutions to organizational challenges. Your beliefs and biases about the scope and scale of digital transformation will be also challenged. During the session you’ll also immerse yourself in exercises that let you to use both tools to work out a small part of the digital transformation of your own L&D function, giving you a start on beginning or improve the transition in your organization.
