Perspective-taking is difficult to do in the moment but is a powerful tool that can be used to resolve conflict, reduce expressions of bias, boost creativity, and strengthen leadership skills. This session enlightens the audience on why it is difficult to engage in perspective-taking "in real life", and how perspective-taking in VR can overcome these challenges and lead the way to new and powerful skills for your employees.
In this session, you learn how powerful perspective-taking is in improving workplace culture and how virtual reality is teaching people how to build their "empathy muscle" and use perspective-taking as a tool. We dip into research that shows perspective-taking's effectiveness in reducing expressions of bias, boosting creativity among teams, strengthening leadership skills, and improving outcomes in conflict resolution. Then, we learn about what makes perspective-taking "in real life" difficult for people to engage in and how perspective-taking in VR can overcome these challenges. Finally, we explore a powerful framework that teaches people how to engage in perspective-taking at any time to increase positive outcomes and enrich workplace cultures.
