523 - Content Quick Change: Evaluating Your Legacy Content for a Modern Serve-Up
In the last year, learning practitioners have been challenged with taking everything virtual or digital to keep employees learning and performing their best in trying new circumstances. Little notice, lots of conversion work, and fewer resources made this an even more challenging mission for many. Imagine the benefits of having a framework, templates, and tools to take legacy content at the asset level and create a fresh design for virtual or digital learning and the experience that goes with it!
In this session, you will learn how to take a fresh look at the learning content you have in your ecosystem today and transform it to serve the needs of your modern learners who are distributed across time zones and geographies. We'll explore several content strategy and implementation templates and a sample of legacy content and transform it into assets and micro-nuggets that can be curated into nimble experiences that incorporate self-directed learning, social learning, and live events. Next, we'll show you how to use those nuggets to create new experiences that can reach your learners wherever they are, whenever they are able to learn. We'll discuss the different types of technology platforms found in many organizations: Teams, Sharepoint, the LMS, curation platforms, wikis, and more. We'll also talk about how to leverage low-fi or high-fi technology to facilitate a world-class virtual/digital learning experience.
In this session, you will learn:
- How to identify content that would benefit from a fresh serve-up
- How to use a template to re-imagine legacy content into something new that resonates better with your learners
- How to transform activities or experiences from ILT or VILT into powerful experiences that can be delivered in more modern ways
- How to evaluate how you might use your existing technology in new ways to support a better virtual or digital learning experience
